The basic meaning is "𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻".
But what does it really mean?
𝙇𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙜𝙤 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙥𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨, 𝙪𝙣𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙪𝙣𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙮 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨.
We hold on to people, places, and things because we never want to lose them or accept that we 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 lost them already or even in some circumstances never really had them in the first place..
We tend to hold on when we get stuck in the bargaining stage of the situation or the loss.
Bargaining is when we tell ourselves “If this happens ... then this will happen" or "when they do this.... this will be true" or "what if I did this... then things would be different.”
We choose to keep playing these bargaining scenarios in our minds until we finally choose to accept what is and let it go.
Letting go is accepting what is. Knowing that we have no way to change it. When we finally choose to stop dwelling on the past or worrying about the future.
Just as we throw away things that are no longer of use to us, it should be the same with negative thoughts, unhappy situations, limiting beliefs, and even with people who make you suffer or unhappy.
