What is illness

Illness is a broad term that defines the poor state of mind, body, and, to a certain extent, spirit.

Illness is the body's way of talking to us, it is a reaction to something that is not serving us in a healthy way.

Many believe that external factors cause illness, but many studies have show that illness can be caused by internal factors such as stress, lack of sleep, nutrition, and even our thoughts.

We have been programmed by society to think that we should run to the doctor at the first sign of illness and take chemicals to fight the symptoms.

Symptoms are defined as: a sign of the existence of something, especially of an undesirable situation.

The body speaks to us in many ways. Symptoms are the body's way of telling us that something is wrong in our environment.

Symptoms are created in the mind and then communicated to the body via chemical reactions.

Decades of research have continued to confirm the value of mind/body interventions in improving physical health and reducing the need for other medical interventions, including pharmaceuticals.

These proven mind/body interventions include various types of meditation, relaxation training, mindfulness, spirituality, and other techniques for improving our responses to the external triggers in our lives.
