Are You Living on Autopilot?

Living on Autopilot means that you’re not making conscious choices about how you live your life. If you’re not making conscious choices, changing, and growing, you are Living on autopilot!

How do you know if you are living on Autopilot?

  • Is every day just like the day before? The same routine over and over?
  • Do you already know what you’re doing tomorrow? How about next week? Down to the minute?
  • Do you know where you’re going for vacation? Same place? Same people?
  • Do you know who you’ll talk to tomorrow? Will it be the same 3-4 people?
  • Do you know what you are going to have for lunch today? Is it the same thing every day?
  • What is the first thing you do in the morning and the last thing you do at night? Do you check your phone? To see what adjustments you have to make to your routine in order to get it all done in time?

You convince yourself that it’s so you can stay on top of things, but it is a habit that you have created that ends up taking control of your day and your future.

Your main goal in life is to get it all done. You get so busy that it doesn’t occur to you that you could be burning yourself out and missing out on the things that you truly want out of life, happiness, joy, love.

If someone at work, or a friend asks you for help, you always say yes? You get worried that they will be upset if you say no? You feel like you owe it to them to say yes? Do you find yourself helping, volunteering, staying late, coming in early, or working on tasks that you know you shouldn’t be doing or just don't want to do because there is something that you do want to be doing but now won't have time for?

Yes, you have a lot of responsibilities and feel like you must get to them all, but do you ever stop and think what is important to you?

Do you put off self-care because you are too tired or don’t have enough time for yourself at the end of the day?

Has moving through life on auto-pilot made you lose track of your dreams?

We get stuck on auto-pilot because we are programmed to think that we have to go go go in order to be successful, and being successful mean you are happy.
It is easier to stick to a predictable routine than it is to just go with the flow and relax.

We don’t ever try new things or step outside our comfort zone because we don’t have time, are too tired, or have fears of the unknown.

Then before you know it, life has passed you by.
    Missed opportunities are gone.
    Hopes and dreams have expired.
You have reached your destination but missed out on the fun of the journey.
It is time to turn off autopilot.
It is time to CHOOSE YOU.
    Choose life.
    Change it up.
    Take a day off.
    Take chances.
    Do the loop de loop!
    JUMP!
